Marshmallow Root & Slippery Elm Bark Soother

Serves: 3 (½-cup servings)


  • 2 tsp. marshmallow root, chopped
  • 2 tsp. slippery elm bark, chopped
  • 3 cups purified water

Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low and cook 10 minutes. Strain, serve and enjoy. May be reheated.

Folklore: Both marshmallow root and slippery elm bark are considered demulcent, meaning they contain soothing substances that decrease coughing by coating and protecting the irritated tissues.
