There's not enough evidence right now to indicate that probiotics help you lose weight. Probiotics are known to help support a healthy digestive system, immune system and may also help with certain skin issues. The recent news on probiotics and weight loss have to do with scientists noticing that overweight and obese people have certain negative bacteria in their digestive systems. The theory is that probiotic bacteria may help crowd out these negative bacteria and help with weight loss. We just don't know whether that's the case. In the meantime, take probiotic for the many other health benefits hey provide.
