The IntestiNEW is a great start; it will help with nourishing the cells of the colon and helping to maintain the delicate intestinal lining. There is also some evidence of patients responding very well to supplemental L-glutamine (IntestiNEW has 5 grams per serving) because it helps provide the muscle with nourishment, especially during times of stress and illness.

In addition to IntestiNEW, and to help with the symptoms of diarrhea, I would suggest our simple DiarrheaSTOP formula. It contains Kaolin clay (this was the original ingredient in Kaopectate), apple pectin (a gentle soluble fiber), and charcoal (a powerful binding agent for the gut) and it comes in a convenient 2-capsule serving size, so this might be the best fit.

Additionally, to support the immune system and to promote overall colon health I'd suggest our new Ultimate Flora Critical Colon BifidoMAX 80 Billion probiotic.  This a new formula designed specifically for the colon, and it is ideal for situations like your mother's, in which the health of the colon has become jeopardized.  The beneficial probiotic bacteria are not only helpful for the immune system, but they also help to regulate bowel contractions and are the first line of defense against pathogenic bacteria that can cause severe infection.

I wish your mother the best of luck and the best of health! If you have additional questions, our Customer Service Team is readily available via phone or email at: 1-800-830-1800 or

I am sending this email hoping to get some help for my 72 year old mother.  In may of 2006 she was diagnoses with cerivcal cancer.  She had 6 weeks of chemo, 28 treatments of radiation and 4 internal radiation treatments.  She did very well and still reamins cancer free! Now she has severe problems with diareha. She has been told it is from all of the radiation and that the colon and rectum area has severe tissue damage.  Her problem only occurs in the evening after dinner but it is controlling her life.  She can't go out for dinner or is unable to go on vacations any longer becasue of this problem.  She has taken several differents types of medicine but has yet to receive any relief.  Today I went into my local Whole Foods Market and they suggest I talk to you.  I did purchase IntestiNew hoping this may provide some help for her.  We are open to any suggestions that you may have.

Thank you for your time,
