Colonic irrigation (or colon hydrotherapy) can certainly be beneficial during cleansing, especially if you have occasional constipation. Also, since several of our detox formulas do not contain a colon-cleansing component, colon hydrotherapy can help provide added support for healthy elimination and regularity. We also recommend a daily high-potency probiotic such as Ultimate Flora Critical Care 50 Billion to help replenish needed good bacteria in the colon and promote a healthy intestinal bacteria balance.

As the name implies, colon hydrotherapy is simply water therapy and involves repeated infusions of filtered, warm water into the colon to help thoroughly cleanse the bowel and reduce the absorption of waste. Colon hydrotherapy is especially important today, since so many common ailments have been associated with colon toxicity—including allergies, arthritis, asthma, chronic fatigue, constipation, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, and joint and muscle pain. Other benefits of colon hydrotherapy include:

  • Promotes healthy bowel function
  • Strengthens and tones the colon muscles
  • Stimulates the body’s natural detoxification process
  • Benefits the lymphatic system and reduces buildup of intestinal contents

Finally, be sure to choose a colon therapist that has been certified by the International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy (I-ACT). Such therapists use FDA-regulated equipment and work in conjunction with local municipalities to regulate colon hydrotherapy through the establishment of safe standards and guidelines.

I was curious whether or not to get a colonic irrigation during cleansing. I am currently taking 'First Cleanse' w/ the FiberSMART and my omega 3-6-9's . I also take an additional probiotic daily and also use digestive enzymes when I eat cooked food. I have heard mixed messages about the necessity of colonics and I was wondering if it would be of benefit or not.
