Do enzymes really help?

OfflineYes. Enzymes play a critical role in every function in the human body, and digestive enzymes in particular are essential for helping to break down the foods we eat into smaller particles that the body can more easily digest--and because they help with digestion, they've also been shown to help relieve many of the problems associated with poor digestion (such as gas, bloating and upset stomach). Because most people eat a lot of heavily processed foods, their diets lack the natural enzymes found in fresh, raw foods, so taking a daily enzyme supplement can help.
It is fine to take enzymes during a cleanse, but whenever possible, take other dietary supplements (including digestive enzymes) at another time during the day to ensure they are most effective. Enzymes are best taken with meals, so if your cleansing program recommends taking Part 1 on an empty stomach, for example, it may be best to then wait 30 minutes and take your enzyme supplement with your morning meal.
