Parasites and Candida. Which should I treat first?

Dear Jan,

So glad you asked.

Do you know certainly that you have a big parasite issue (lab testing) or are you interested in a general cleanse and maintenance protocol?

I ask because Paragone is the strongest herbal formula we make. If there's not a serious, definite parasite issue, I would first complete your CandiGone and then do ParaGone. The important idea is to make sure the 7 channels of elimination are open and functional to avoid possible unpleasant cleansing reactions. You can read more about cleansing in our Learning Center here. Just click on Digestive Care Articles at the bottom of the list, and then you'll find a great amount of info.

Please pay particular attention to your diet when doing these microbial cleanses. Sugars and carbs promote overgrowth of both bacteria and yeast, so if you're eating sugars and carbs while cleansing, it's like carefully mopping the floors and then the dog with muddy paws runs all around and messes up all your work.

And yes, continue with probiotics while doing your cleanse - just make sure you take them at least 2 hours apart from your CandiGone or ParaGone dose. Microbial cleanses contain herbal antibacterials and we don't want to interfere with the best function of your probiotics.

In fact, all aspects of HOPE - High fiber, Omega-3s, Probiotics and digestive Enzymes should be continued daily. They are the foundation for a healthy gut. You can learn more here. These products can be viewed like we think of a daily multivitamin.

Parazyme is a wonderful digestive enzyme blend that gives you added probiotics and intestinal lining support along with some hydrochloric acid and other enzymes. All of these are especially helpful during a cleanse. You didn't mention which enzyme blend you're taking. You could either be supplementing with Parazyme if you choose, or if you're taking a light enzyme, you may be able to just use Parazyme instead of your other enzyme blend. You would want to compare your enzyme strength with ParaZyme. If you go to you can see the ingredients of any Renew Life product under the tab "Product Information".

Digestive enzymes are one of those products that are different for everyone. It's really great to experiment to see what seems to help create the most peace in your gut.

IntestiNew has been shown in research to help support and repair the intestinal lining. With Candida and/or Parasitic overgrowth, the lining is most often in disrepair, so IntestiNew is a very helpful adjunctive product.

I would like to suggest you join Brenda Watson's Community for free here. It's a wonderful resource and you can post questions to Brenda directly there and search years of her answers to other people's posts.

Hi, I just finished the Cleanse Smart and have purchased both candigone and paragone, but I don't know which to start with and is it ok to start one of them right after stopping the Cleanse Smart? Also, can I take the probiotics while I'm doing one of them?  I already take enzymes, but saw mention of parazyme. Also, read about IntestiNew and Hope.  Any feedback on those would be helpful, too.
