Hi Emmie,

It is fine to take a natural sleep aid while taking First Cleanse, though we do recommend taking other supplements at a different time than your cleansing components, so try to wait at least an hour after taking the First Cleanse evening dose before taking your sleep aid.

The initial symptoms you reported (headaches, sluggish) are common cleansing reactions and typically subside after a few days. Good luck with your cleansing regimen and congrats on taking the first step toward better health!

Hello, thanks for setting up this forum!

I have just started First Cleanse; it is my first time trying a cleanse at all, and I literally started on Wednesday AM.  I felt somewhat sluggish and a bit achey and headachey during the day, but had expected that and didn't find it intolerable. I'm hopeful I will see further results as time goes on, and that I will finish up feeling energized and healthy!

One of the reasons I decided to do a cleanse was due to having difficulty sleeping over the past several weeks.  It is like I am on the verge of falling asleep all night, but can never quite drop off.  I picked up a sleep aid at the natural food store when I purchased the First Cleanse kit.  I took it for about two nights before starting the cleanse, and found it very helpful.  I just realized that I never double checked to be sure it was safe to take it while using the cleanse.  Can you please let me know if there is any reason why I should not use this while using First Cleanse?  (Or, for that matter, with any other product in case it helps other people.)

The sleep aid I have is named SomaRest; it contains the following in 1 capsule (the directions say take 1 or 2, I have been taking only 1 capsule):

Magnesium:   25 mg

Valerian Root extract 4:1:   150 mg

GABA:  150

Hops extract 4:1:   100 mg

Passion Flower Extract 4:1:   75 mg

L-Tryptophan:   75 mg

Chamomile Flower extract 1.2% Apegenin:   50 mg

Velvet Bean 5:1:  35 mg

L-Theanine:   25 mg

Lavender Extract 4:1:   15 mg

Peppermint leaf:   35 mg

Melatonin:   0.75 mg

I'm going to hold off on taking this until I get an answer, just to be sure I don't take something that messes up the cleanse or makes me ill at all.  But I am hopeful that it will be safe to take it if I feel I need it.

Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions!

Take care,

Emmie
