The first thing to remember is that constipation is often the result of a variety of factors, including poor diet (too many processed foods and sugar, not enough fiber), a lack of fluid intake, a lack of essential fatty acids, not enough exercise—even the use of certain medications or just not taking the time to eliminate each day can lead to a constipated colon. Furthermore, if left in the colon, undigested food can begin to ferment and release toxins, which can eventually make their way into the bloodstream and contribute to a breakdown in overall health. For this reason, it is really important to address the problem of constipation and not ignore it.
While CleanseSMART is a good start, it may also help to keep track of your diet and daily routine to address the problem, and from there you can begin to make the necessary diet/lifestyle changes. As far as supplementation, ReNew Life recommends adding a natural fiber supplement such as FiberSMART to your daily diet to help provide the bulk needed for healthy stool, as well as a daily Omega oil supplement such as OilSMART to nourish healthy colon cells and soothe and lubricate the bowel for easier elimination. A high-Bifido daily probiotic such as Ultimate Flora Critical Care 50 Billion is also recommended to promote the growth of healthy bacteria in the digestive tract and support regularity. Finally, yes—be sure to drink plenty of water (at least half your body weight in ounces every day), as this will help to hydrate the bowel. Good luck!

I have just started the 30 day CleanseSmart program. In the past, I have had very bad constipation, not elliminating sometimes for 3 months or so even though I eat most solid foods regularly. Since I have started the cleanse, I have had diarrhea – elliminating water and undigested food only. I also have discomfort from having to go often.
During my yearly physical, physicians haven't said too much about this issue. Drink more water.
